About

Hi

I am an emerging Irish artist, originally from Co. Cavan. Primarily I have concentrated on watercolour paintings where an infinite versatility of the natural world can be created. Detail has often driven my work as I always make careful observations of my subjects. I love capturing formations through colour combinations and a multitude of experimentation and technique processes. My execution of floral and plant collages are realistic and I try to display a stunning degree of precision. However, it is not possible to work entirely seasonally and so I also use a lot of photographs taken at a plants peak so I can work throughout the year. But it’s much more exciting to work directly from nature.

Ireland’s remote landscapes are astoundingly beautiful, often powerful. More recently I have begun to expose this in my work. Certain landscapes from where I am from have influenced me greatly. My perspective on these compositions has direct personal vision. Again I often use digital reference in order to fix dimension and centre my attention. As time passes though, it becomes less about the photography and more about my own focus and visualization. While capturing the cultural significance of Mother Nature I have also been deeply inspired by the places I have travelled and this is evidently present in my work also.

Hope you enjoy my blog and I look forward to reading any comments youwish to leave.
